The IPCC has three working groups: Working Group I deals with the physical science basis of climate change, Working Group II with impacts and adaptation, and Working Group III with mitigation. A full assessment has been done every five to seven years, with the last one having been released in 2007.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is releasing the first of three major reports on September 27th, 2013. This report will come from IPCC's Working Group 1, which is an update on the physical science of the climate change, compiled an synthesized by 258 leading climate scientists.
