Website Redesign Offers New Look, Features
The Pacific Climate Impacts Consortium is pleased to present its newly redesigned website at pacificclimate.org, sporting a new modern look-and-feel as well as features that better support climate information delivery to its members, stakeholders and the general public.
Much more than a 'refresh' the new design represents a move away from static html pages to a dynamic database-driven system built on the award-winning Drupal CMS, a system that also powers such well-trafficked websites as whitehouse.gov.
Some features of the new design include:
- An easy to navigate Resources section which includes browsable libraries of PCIC publications, past and present PCIC projects, and a glossary of climate-related terminology.
- Gateway access to online PCIC mapping tools like the Regional Analysis Tool and Plan2Adapt.
- A News and Events section that includes posted news stories concerning PCIC and the climate science community as well as an Events Calendar and Seminars section with a built-in viewer for watching live webcasts of PCIC seminars.
- An expanded and well-organized About PCIC section which includes profiles on PCIC staff.
- Targeted contact forms linked to PCIC staff profile pages so you can more easily identify who you want to contact at PCIC and do so from anywhere you can access a computer and web browser, without the need for a separate email client program.
- Automated signup for receipt of the PCIC quarterly newsletter, PCIC Update, through a prominent signup box on the home page and inner page sidebar block.
Comments and feedback are both welcome and appreciated as we strive to improve regional climate service delivery in the Pacific and Yukon region of Canada.
