New PCIC Update

The February 2020 issue of the PCIC Update newsletter opens with a story on an Overheating and Air Quality Guide released by the BC Ministry of Housing that utilized data from PCIC. It continues a story on the release of the Climate Projections for the BC Northeast Region, a collaborative report developed by PCIC and the Northeast Climate Risk Network, and funded by the Fraser Basin Council. The next story covers a recent paper led by PCIC researchers on the impact of dynamical changes on atmospheric rivers over Western North America. This is followed by stories on a climate science course for working professionals in BC and a webinar on climate information for decision making. The next article follows PCIC researcher Stephen Sobie's experience at the Northwest Climate Science Conference. The newsletter also covers several agreements: one that was renewed with BC Hydro, one on Future Weather Files and a new agreement with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. The staff profile for this newsletter is on Rod Glover. The PCIC Science Brief is on The Human Influence on North American and Eurasian Precipitation. The staff news section contains a welcome to Md. Shahabul Alam.
