PCIC Research and Director Featured in UVic knowlEDGE

Interest in the effects of anthropogenic climate change on climate extremes is growing and this is the focus of this month's knowlEDGE. Each month the Times Colonist newspaper, along with UVic's Communications and Marketing, highlight an area of research being carried out at UVic in a half-page feature. This month, knowlEDGE focuses on PCIC Director Francis Zwiers and the ongoing efforts of PCIC and others to understand the links between anthropogenic climate change and the climate extremes that are shaping our world. The issue highlights some of PCIC's research and includes Dr. Zwiers's remarks on current work to attribute extreme weather events to their causes. This month's knowlEDGE also mentions the recent release of the related National Academy of Sciences publication, Attribution of Extreme Weather Events in the Context of Climate Change, on which Dr. Zwiers is a co-author.
