Climate Change: Implications for British Columbia The state of the science from the IPCC 5th Assessment Report: a public briefing
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is releasing the first of three major reports on September 27th, 2013. This report will come from IPCC's Working Group 1, which is an update on the physical science of the climate change, compiled an synthesized by 258 leading climate scientists. To coincide with this, the Pacific Climate Impacts Consortium and the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions are sponsoring a public briefing in which leading climate scientists and semior contributors to the IPCC's report will be able to share the latest findings on global climate change and discuss the report. This briefing will explain the IPCC's assessment process, the latest results from the climate science literature and what these findings mean for British Columbia.
This event will be held on Monday, September 30th from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., at the Wosk Centre for Dialogue, 580 West Hastings St., in Vancouver, BC. The event will also be webcast, here. It is free and open to the public and media. For more information, see the poster and our events calendar.
