    The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has just released Working Group III's contribution to the IPCC's Sixth Assessment Report. The report from Working Group III is the product of an assessment from over 230 authors from around the world.

    PCIC is pleased to announce the release of our next PCIC Science Brief. The new Science Brief examines trends in Canadian snow cover and depth. As the climate warms, the Earth's cryosphere, comprised of snow, ice and frozen soil, including permafrost, has been shrinking.

    A report released today by The Financial Accountability Office of Ontario examines the costs of three climate impacts on Ontario’s public buildings: extreme rainfall, extreme heat and freeze-thaw cycles.

    Output from the newest generation of climate models participating in the sixth phase of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP6) is now available. These new models have updated representations of physical processes and will gradually supersede the CMIP5 output used in scientific research.

    PCIC Director Francis Zwiers is among seven UVic researchers who were recently recognised by Clarivate Web of Science as among the most highly-cited researchers in their fields. The researchers recognised have published papers that are in the top one percent of the most-cited papers in their fields.
